I would like to submit my work for consideration in the upcoming juried online exhibition, "Intersection: World Culture in the East Bay." My series, We Are focuses on the strengths of our founding women and the paths that they have paved for future generations. One particular piece within this series is especially pertinent to the focus of this exhibit. Freedom portrays the story of Rosa Parks and her challenges under the social norm of the time.
Within my series, Faith, I look at the beliefs that are held by particular cultures pertaining to the grieving process, whether it be the lifetime preparation of a burial site by the African Culture, or the Lord's Prayer in Spanish. Each work enters the intersection of individuality that is based on a particular culture.
